A PROFOUND COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY
Oceans are our planet’s life support and regulate the global climate. They are the world’s largest ecosystem and continue to support the global population’s economic, social and environmental needs. Despite their critical importance, decades of irresponsible exploitation have led to an alarming level of degradation. Current efforts are not yet meeting the urgent need to safeguard this vast, yet fragile, resource.
imagine a world where excellence meets responsibility. where every bottle tells a story and supports concrete actions

Packaging
Sustainability is at the forefront of the bottle design and production process. The result – a recyclable flacon and biodegradable beech wood cap. Prince Explorer has also implemented several programs to recuperate and repurpose bottles, including as glassware for select establishments.

Philanthropy
A part of Prince Explorer’s profits are donated to ocean conservation efforts via the Prince Explorer Foundation. To date, funds have benefited IPOS, a coordination tool supported by the UN, and the Blue Marine Foundation, focusing on overfishing and biodiversity protection areas.

Action
A range of initiatives in support of Prince Explorer’s philanthropic pledges. Notably, an annual collaboration with Monegasque and international hospitality institutions to create unique cocktails benefiting ocean conservation, punctuated by a cocktail competition.

Suppliers
Emphasis on selecting suppliers who share the brand’s values, with a focus on sustainability, including extensive use of recycled and recyclable materials, traditional cultivation methods, fair trade practices, environmental preservation and robust ESG policies.

Prince Explorer is proud to support and contribute to several NGOs committed to protecting and preserving our oceans.

Blue Marine Foundation is a UK-based ocean conservation charity founded in 2010 by the team behind the award-winning documentary film ‘The End of the Line’. Blue Marine is dedicated to addressing overfishing, one of the world’s biggest environmental problems and aims to restore the ocean to health by protecting and restoring marine environments. Its mission is to ensure the effective protection of at least 30 per cent of the ocean by 2030 and the sustainable management of the whole ocean.

The International Platform for Ocean Sustainability (IPOS) is a global, demand-driven initiative created to address the urgent need for integrated ocean knowledge and actionable policy. IPOS connects science, policy, and society to help countries and regions fulfill their international ocean commitments. It aims to overcome fragmentation by bringing together the best available knowledge — from global assessments to Indigenous and local expertise — and turning it into practical guidance to restore and sustain a healthy, vibrant ocean.
ARCTIC EXPEDITION TO SVALBARD
From an early age, Prince Albert I of Monaco displayed a fascination for the polar regions. Between 1898 and 1912, he mounted four scientific expeditions to Svalbard, in the Norwegian Arctic.
The crucial scientific research conducted during these voyages remains a foundation of modern oceanography and our knowledge of the polar region. In honour of these expeditions, and as a token of gratitude for his support to Norwegian polar exploration, one of the largest glaciers in Svalbard was named ‘Monacobreen’, the ‘Monaco Glacier.’

TODAY...
In 2022, alongside H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, our founders embarked upon an expedition which followed Prince Albert I’s original route through the Arctic over 100 years prior.
During this extraordinary voyage, the importance of Prince Albert I’s contributions to the polar regions was fully unearthed.
Before departing, bottles of Prince Explorer Gin were left at the Texas Bar, our planet’s most remote and northernmost bar, sitting at nearly 80° N. Today, they continue to to welcome those explorers with the courage and determination to reach this latitude.

THE EXPLORER BRACELET
A bracelet representing the very soul of the Explorer, depicting the individual, surrounded by the essential elements of our planet – water and land. As in all things, it is essential to strike the right balance, particularly that between our lifestyles and the ecosystems that surround us.

THE EXPLORER GLASS
The Explorer Glass was born from a brilliant idea and a sustainable gesture. Each glass is crafted from an authentic recycled Prince Explorer Gin bottle—cut and hand-polished to create a one-of-a-kind drinking experience.
This creation, which acccompanied the winning cocktail of the first Cocktail for the Ocean competition, was imagined by Delfim Mendes, then bartender at the legendary Bar Américain of the Hôtel de Paris. It reflects a blend of craftsmanship, purpose, and environmental responsibility.
A COCKTAIL FOR THE OCEAN
As part of its dedication to ocean conservation, Prince Explorer launched the “Cocktail for the Ocean” initiative. This unique program invites participating establishments to craft a signature “Cocktail for the Ocean” using Prince Explorer Gin. For every cocktail served, Prince Explorer donates €1 to support ocean protection efforts worldwide.
