Prince Explorer

Our story

Inspired by a Legacy. Perpetuating a Vision.

MORE THAN A GIN, PRINCE EXPLORER IS THE DISTILLATION OF A LEGACY — WHERE INTELLECT MEETS ADVENTURE AND VISIONARY LEADERSHIP

Prince Albert I of Monaco, The Explorer Prince

Inspired by the legacy of Prince Albert I of Monaco, often referred to as the “Prince Explorateur”, Prince Explorer Gin pays tribute to this beneficent and erudite leader’s intellectual curiosity and enduring spirit of adventure.

As an oceanographer and scientist, Prince Albert I organised over 28 expeditions and led many of the most significant maritime campaigns of his time.

It is with the same spirit of adventure that Prince Explorer Gin now travels the globe in search of the finest botanicals and exceptional flavours.

INSPIRED BY A LEGACY, PERPETUATING A VISION

Today, Prince Explorer seeks to continue Prince Albert I’s prescient championing of marine conservation.

In furtherance of our common values and the concerns we share with the Principality, for every bottle purchased, we donate a part of our revenue to ocean conservation efforts in Monaco and beyond.

Our mission is to offer a gin of the highest quality, created to contribute to his avant-gardist fight in favour of

The gin

Prince Explorer is the result of an audacious challenge: to craft a gin that blends the bright, refreshing character of Mediterranean citrus with the layered complexity of rare peppercorns from around the world.

Developed over several years with the help of master distillers, Michelin-starred chefs, and passionate gin aficionados, the result is a perfectly balanced, gastronomic spirit that reflects the land, culture, and heritage of Monaco.

Rooted in tradition yet globally inspired, Prince Explorer uses only the finest botanicals grown with sustainable, time-honoured methods—paying tribute to small producers and protecting the environment with every bottle.

THE FOUNDERS

Brothers and founders of Prince Explorer, Matteo and Giacomo Frateschi come from a Monegasque family deeply connected to the sea. Raised with an early awareness of the oceans’ beauty and fragility, between the halls of the Oceanographic Museum and the stories of their grandfather, a founding member of the Larvotto marine reserve, they now carry this legacy through a project that combines excellence, commitment, and transmission.

Their vision: to create a gin worthy of Prince Albert I, where flavour exploration goes hand in hand with the preservation of life.
